Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026

The short version: Axle Balance does not have user accounts and does not send your truck setups, weights or loads to us. They stay on your device — unless you choose to share your Load info board with a fleet manager, described in section 3. If you buy Pro, your card details go to Stripe, our payment processor, not to us, and we keep a small license record so Pro works on your devices. We do not run ads, analytics or tracking cookies.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Gourdneck Valley Woodworking LLC (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use Axle Balance at axlebalance.com and the installable app that runs from it. Contact us any time at support@axlebalance.com.

2. Information that stays on your device

The app stores the following in your browser’s storage on your own phone, tablet or computer so it can work offline and remember your work:

saved truck setups (trailer type, tractor and trailer measurements, tandem hole layout, weight limits, units);
your last scale weights, tandem hole and cargo layout;
if you have Pro: your license key, the plan name, the email address on your purchase, and when the key was last checked;
a copy of the app’s own files, so it opens without signal.

We do not receive this information. You can delete it at any time by removing Pro from the device (Get Pro → Remove from this device), deleting setups in the app, or clearing the site data for axlebalance.com in your browser settings. Clearing site data removes saved setups permanently.

3. Information processed when you buy or use Pro

Checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy, Stripe collects your email, name, billing address (used to calculate sales tax) and payment details to process the order, send receipts and prevent fraud. We can see your name, email, billing country and ZIP/postal code, plan and payment history in our Stripe account, but never your full card number. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
License record. When you subscribe, our license server (run on Cloudflare) creates a license key and stores it with your Stripe customer ID, email, plan, subscription status and paid-through date, plus a short label for each device where you activate Pro (for example, “Axle Balance on iPhone” and the date). We use this only to unlock Pro, enforce the device limit and provide support.
Fleet sync (optional). If a driver taps “Share with fleet manager,” the driver’s Load info board — the loads on it (load and BOL numbers, broker, shipper and receiver names, addresses and phone numbers, pickup and delivery times and numbers, seal, weight, pallets, reefer temp and notes) and the name the driver enters — is stored on our server (run on Cloudflare) under a random sync key. Anyone with that key and an active Pro package can view and edit the board, so share it only with your fleet. A key works for up to 5 fleet accounts; if more try to use it, the key expires and the board moves to a new key that only the driver receives. We keep a one-way scrambled ID (not the key itself) of each fleet account that has used the key, to enforce that limit. Week notes are not shared. The board is deleted when the driver taps “Stop sharing.” We use this information only to keep the driver’s and fleet manager’s devices in sync.
License checks. When you activate Pro, and about once a day after that when you are online, the app sends your license key and activation ID to our license server to confirm your subscription is active.

4. Website hosting

Axle Balance is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. We do not use this information to identify or track you.

5. Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and keep a record of support requests.

6. What we don’t do

No advertising, advertising networks or ad tracking.
No analytics or tracking cookies.
No location tracking. The app never asks for your GPS location.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If we ever add analytics or other services that collect new information, we will update this policy first.

7. How we use and share information

We use the limited information we receive (Stripe payment records, the license record and support emails) to provide Pro, answer questions, process refunds, prevent fraud and meet legal and tax obligations. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Axle Balance (Stripe and Cloudflare), when required by law, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

8. How long we keep information

We keep order and support records for as long as needed to provide Pro and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, generally up to seven years after your last purchase. Information stored on your device stays there until you delete it.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example, California, other U.S. states, the EU, the UK or Canada), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to get a copy, or to object to certain uses. Email support@axlebalance.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Some records, such as tax records for purchases, we may be required to keep.

If you are in the EU or UK, we process order information to perform our contract with you and to meet legal obligations, and support emails based on our legitimate interest in helping you. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because your setups live on your device, keep your device locked and secure. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information we handle.

11. Children

Axle Balance is made for commercial drivers and the trucking industry. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and give notice in the app or by email for important changes.
